- Indy’s newest lodging, The Alexander (855.200.3002; www.thealexander.com), is slated to open in January with 209 guestrooms and 22,500 square feet of meeting space. The property will also heavily showcase art and design, with the Indianapolis Museum of Art agreeing to curate more than 40 contemporary works from 20 artists for the inside and outside of the property.
- The Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing (317.846.2700; www.starwoodhotels.com) recently wrapped a $12 million renovation of its main-tower guest rooms, plus the lobby and gym. The hotel is just north of downtown in a prominent business, dining and shopping district, and connected by skywalk to The Fashion Mall, with over 100 upscale stores.
- The Omni Severin (317.634.6664; www.omnihotels.com) recently underwent an $8 million upgrade and will soon open a farm-to-fork restaurant and sports lounge, the Severin Bar. The historic AAA Four Diamond hotel, connected to the convention center by skywalks, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2013.
- The Marriott East (317.352.1231; www.marriott.com) recently underwent recent renovations and now offers more than 75,000 square feet of meeting space, plus an open-concept Skylight Bistro & Wine Bar in the lobby. The property also showcases 315 newly renovated guest rooms and 41 suites.
- Conrad Indianapolis (317.713 5000; www.conradindianapolis.com) partnered with fine art company Modern Masters to offer art shows and displays throughout the hotel and its meeting space. The hotel also recently upgraded and transformed the former Presidential Suite to The Gallery Suite.
