WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis.
Kalahari Resorts announced that it has launched the creation of a new resort complex in Pennsylvania’s Monroe County. The complex is anticipated to cost $350 million and cover a 150-acre area, with an anticipated opening in late 2014 or early 2015.
The first of three phases includes a 450-room resort, a 100,000-square-foot indoor water park, a two-acre outdoor water park, a 65,000-square-foot convention center, a 30,000-square-foot indoor theme park, and 6,000 square feett of retail space that will include two dining establishments.
Currently, the privately held Kalahari Resorts, based in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., operates two African-themed resorts— in Wisconsin Dells and Sandusky, Ohio.
