NEWPORT NEWS, Va.
Magnuson Hotels has announced the complete rebranding of the Magnuson Hotel and Convention Center at Oyster Point.
Formerly the Omni Newport News, the hotel will upgrade its local, regional and national market to attract business, group and leisure travelers via an affiliation with Magnuson Hotels’ global portfolio of nearly 2,000 hotels.
The 182-room property is located just four blocks from shopping, dining and entertainment at Oyster Point Square Newport News. The Stratford University Newport News Campus is just minutes away and Langley Air Force Base and Fort Eustis Army Base are a 20-minute drive.
Guests of the Magnuson Hotel and Convention Center at Oyster Point will enjoy free wireless internet access, indoor pool, fitness center, a full business center and over 15,000 square feet of meeting space to accommodate groups of up to 800. All guest rooms include hair dryer, mini-fridge, alarm clock/radio, free local calls, cable TV, electronic door locks and iron with board.
Future expansion plans include a new wing with 220 guest rooms, a parking garage, and an indoor water park. The project is estimated at $35 million and is expected to create 500 jobs for the local economy.
