Hilton launched Signia Hilton, a new brand focused on meetings and events. According to Hilton, the hotels will incorporate technology and design into every aspect of the guest experience. The global brand will include a portfolio of hotels in popular urban and resort locales. The first Signia Hilton properties will include Signia Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Signia Hilton Atlanta and Signia Hilton Indianapolis.

Minutes from Faneuil Hall in the heart of the Financial District, the landmark Ames Boston Hotel is among America’s most distinctive structures. Completed in 1893, this Romanesque-Byzantine sandstone treasure was Boston’s first skyscraper. Converted into a hotel in 2009, this 114-room European-style charmer is a Hilton Curio property and part of Benchmark Hospitality’s Gemstone Collection.

PGA of America is moving its headquarters from Palm Beach County, Florida, to Frisco, where it will anchor a 600-acre, mixed-use development with an initial investment worth more than a half-billion. The move is one that will further cement Frisco’s positioning as a sports, events and meetings mecca.

Steps from botanical Boston Public Garden and historic Boston Common, the Boston Park Plaza occupies a distinctive place in U.S. hotel history. Originally the Statler Hotel, this 1927 Back Bay heirloom set a new standard for the “modern business hotel” as part of E.M. Statler’s pioneering American hotel chain, which introduced concepts including the en suite bathroom and “Do Not Disturb” sign.

November 2018

Hyatt Hotels Corporation will join Marriott International, Hilton Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in cutting independent meeting planner commissions from its current 10 percent rate to 7 percent. Jack Horne, global head of sales and revenue for the hotel chain, revealed the news in a letter sent to meeting and event planners who have done business with Hyatt on Thursday, November 15, 2018.
