  • The Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center & Spa, which completed a $100 million renovation in January, named Fred Euler as general manager and Kelly Commerford, CHME, as director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure, Euler served as general manager for a number of Hyatt hotels, most recently at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa, where he also served on the board of directors for the Lake Tahoe Crystal Bay CVB. Commerford joins the Hyatt team from Dolce International, where he served for four years as the Western regional director of sales and marketing for the Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose, Calif., and director of sales and marketing at the Dolce Oak Ridge Conference Center in Chaska, Minn... Michael McMahon was promoted to general manager at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples. McMahon, who has been with the property since 2002 in several capacities, including director of sales and marketing, most recently served as the resort’s hotel manager… Miami’s Eden Roc Renaissance Resort and Spa appointed Gary Gentile as general manager. He previously served as general manager for the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Georgia
  • C. Robert McEleney was promoted to president of Callaway Gardens, a 1,300-acre resort and preserve in Pine Mountain, Ga. McEleney had served as Callaway Gardens’ vice president/managing director since March 2005… The Atlanta CVB promoted Sheretha Bell to the newly created position of senior manager, sales and marketing services. In her new role, Bell manages the design and utilization of ACVB templates and the company’s promotional collateral. Bell previously served as manager, sales services and oversaw creative services for the sales department.

Texas
  • The Austin CVB hired Rob Hampton as its new vice president of sales and promoted Mary Kay Hackley to the position of director of industry relations and strategic sales. Hampton now oversees the CVB’s convention sales team, which is responsible for booking meeting and convention business at the Austin Convention Center, the Palmer Events Center and at hotels throughout the Austin area. He most recently served as vice president of sales for the Jacksonville & the Beaches CVB in Florida. As director of industry relations and strategic sales, Hackley serves as the primary liaison between the Austin CVB and the Austin Convention Center, responsible for growing and maintaining their citywide customer base, as well as creating joint marketing opportunities for the two organizations. She has served as the Austin CVB’s director of convention sales for the past five years... Casandra Brown Matej, vice president of sales and services for the Dallas CVB, and Jay Burress, vice president of sales and marketing for the bureau, will jointly lead the Dallas CVB’s sales and services division. Brown Matej was promoted from her position as director of sales, and Burress maintains his title as vice president of sales and marketing while taking on added responsibilities.
