  • Boston-based Longwood Events will open its Artistry boutique event venue to the public in March. Located in the Fort Point Channel area of South Boston, within the Midway Studios live/work complex, the 22,000-square-foot space has the urban-hip feel of a New York City SoHo warehouse, combining “industrial chic” decor with the Boston wharf area’s historic architecture. Artistry, which can accommodate more than 1,200 guests, is the company’s fourth boutique event space in New England.   • InterContinental Hotels Group unveiled the Crowne Plaza Hotel Niagara Falls in December. Formerly operating as a Holiday Inn Select-branded property, the hotel received a $20 million renovation prior to raising the Crowne Plaza flag. The property-wide renovations included a new building facade, updating all meeting space with new decor and modern technological capabilities, updating all guest rooms and suites, expanding the fitness center and indoor swimming pool, and additions such as a new business center and an international marketplace. Located in downtown Niagara Falls, the six-story hotel features 391 guest rooms, each with the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage bed and bedding package and bathrooms that feature marble vanities and walk-in Terrazzo showers, 15,000 square feet of meeting space, wired and wireless high-speed Internet access, a business center, a Starbucks coffee shop, Cascades restaurant, and the Stadium Bar, a sports bar with 14 plasma televisions.   • The Inn at Penn, a Hilton Hotel recently announced the completion of a major renovation of its 238 guest rooms, 17 executive conference suites and main floor meeting and banquet facilities. Guest rooms were redesigned with new furnishings and amenities, including a lounge chair and ottoman, a refreshment station, a separate work space, and wired and wireless high-speed Internet access. On the hotel’s main floor, the Inn at Penn’s 10,000 square feet of traditional meeting space was redecorated, and on the guest floors, the hotel’s 17 executive suites, which can host meetings for up to 15 people or receptions for up to 25 people, also received a new look. A new 24-hour business center was also added.
