The Georgian Terrace Hotel
Atlanta
What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?
Since The Georgian Terrace hotel is one of the oldest hotels (built in 1911), and considered the grande dame of Atlanta, I give short informational tours and provide a chronological listing of significant historical events that took place at the hotel. For example, the reception for the opening of the movie Gone with the Wind was held here in 1939.
What are your group restaurant recommendations?
ECCO Restaurant, Rathbuns, Silk, Fogo De Chao, Trois, Enoteca, South City Kitchen, and Two Urban Licks. Not only does each of these restaurants have incredible food, but also their space for groups is comfortable and very service-friendly.
Are there any quirky places we should check out?
Little Five Points—a very eclectic group of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues.
If we only have an hour or two, what should we definitely check out nearby?
I would suggest the Georgia Aquarium, which is the largest in the world, and the CNN Center or Coca-Cola Museum, which have their headquarters here. Also, I would recommend the High Museum of Art (currently housing an exhibit from the Louvre) and Atlanta Botanical Gardens. All of these attractions are less than a mile from the hotel, so guests can easily tour one of them in an hour or two.
