What are three of the most culturally unique off-site venues you would recommend for groups meeting in Indianapolis?
- The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a great venue for receptions and events. Home to the largest single-day sporting event in the world, the Indianapolis 500, the famous oval offers banquet and event space. Although event dates can be limited due to track activity and high demand, attendees can always visit their Hall of Fame Museum, located inside the track. With more than 75 antique cars on display, visitors can also see iconic racing footage and a collection of memorabilia from past winners.
- Many groups enjoy holding breakouts at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. Planners have the option of integrating Native American culture into events, including tipi construction and storytelling. The venue is extremely accessible, only two blocks from the convention center. Holding an event at the Eiteljorg is made affordable with free parking. The museum recently added 45,000 square feet of exhibit and educational space. It is one of only two museums east of the Mississippi that showcase Native American and Western art.
- The White River Gardens offers more than three acres of botanical attractions and inside space with views of the White River. Special features, like exotic butterflies and tropical plants, give this venue a warm feeling perfect for year-round events. This venue is also close to downtown and the convention center. Planners can also purchase advance tickets for attendees to enter the Indianapolis Zoo, which sits adjacent to White River Gardens.
