- The Heldrich, a new $120 million property in downtown New Brunswick, opened in March with several new managers in place. Claudine M. Sidney has been appointed director of conference services. She most recently served as the assistant director of event services at the Hilton in Short Hills, N.J. Stacie A. DeMicco is the new senior conference planning manager after working as a conference planning manager at North Maple Inn at Basking Ridge, N.J. Michael Hackworth is the conference operations manager, bringing to his position an extensive background in meetings presentation technology and event production. He was previously the audiovisual manager at the Hotel Westminster, in Livingston, N.J. Johnny Caruso, the front office manager, served as the director of front office operations at the Hilton Hasbrouck Heights, and prior to that held managerial positions for Meristar, Starwood and Marriott hotels. Paul Lawton, revenue manager, worked in the same capacity at Heldrich sister hotel North Maple Inn at Basking Ridge. William Van Pelt, takes the reigns as executive sous chef after serving as executive chef in New Brunswick at the Gaebeels and Clydz.

- The International Association of Conference Centers hired 27-year-old Warren Call as the first board associate to advise on emerging trends in Generation X and Y. Call, group sales manager at Michigan’s Crystal Mountain Resort, will work with a committee in creating a report that will include observations and experiences concerning the “Google Generation.” Call will also attend all board meetings.
