The Concierge

Jack K. Nargil
Head Concierge, Hay Adams Hotel
Washington, D.C.

What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?

Besides the usual concierge requests for tickets and dinner reservations, we are happy to help with transportation, i.e. buses and motor coaches, as well as special entry into private museums for tours and ticketing for museums that are time-sensitive. We can also assist in purchasing special White House gifts for groups, and can assist with finding entertainment venues and special meeting places in government and private buildings.

What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?
Blues Alley in Georgetown and the 9:30 Club for the younger crowd.

Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?
I love to send people down to the Mall to walk between the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. Along the way will be the WWII Memorial, the Vietnam Wall and the Korean Memorial. The Potomac River is nearby and the Jefferson and FDR memorials are a must.

Are there any quirky places we should check out?
Adams Morgan is a great ethnically mixed neighborhood with lots of restaurants and small shops.

f we only have an hour or two, what should we definitely check out nearby?
Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Renwick Gallery.
