- The former Coast Hotel Anaheim was reflagged as the Sheraton Park at the Anaheim Resort (714.750.1811; www.starwoodhotels.com) last year following a $32 million renovation. The project included a redesign of the hotel’s 490 guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
- The Hilton Anaheim (714.750.4321; www.hilton.com) will begin an 18-month, property-wide renovation in July that will include the refurbishment of its 1,572 guest rooms as well as public spaces. The hotel’s 100,000 square feet of meeting space will also receive technological upgrades.
- The Anaheim Marriott (714.750.8000; www.marriott.com) recently added a new 25,465-square-foot ballroom, giving the hotel a total of 80,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel will complete a renovation of its 1,033 guest rooms in December.
- The 248-room Hotel Menage (714.758.0900; www.hotelmenage.com), formerly a Holiday Inn, recently underwent a complete makeover and is now positioned as a hip, boutique-style hotel. The property features several themed breakout rooms and a one-acre pool deck that becomes a nightclub on Fridays and Saturdays.
Brea
- The Embassy Suites Hotel Brea (714.960.6000; www.embassysuites.com) recently completed a renovation of its meeting space and added a business center. The hotel will complete a renovation of its 228 suites this month.
Buena Park
- The former Embassy Suites Hotel Buena Park was reflagged as the Radisson Suites Hotel Buena Park (714.739.5600; www.radisson.com) in October.
Costa Mesa
- The Westin South Coast Plaza (714.662.6693; www.westin.com) completed a renovation of its lobby and meeting space last year and added new function space that includes the 4,500-square-foot Terrace Pavilion, a 250-seat gazebo and an executive boardroom.
Irvine
- The Hilton Irvine (949.833.9999; www.hilton.com ) completed a $10 million renovation last summer and also became a smoke-free property. The renovation included new luxury bedding for guest rooms, a makeover for the 7,320-square-foot Crystal Ballroom, a new pool terrace, and a new Executive floor.
- The Embassy Suites Irvine–Orange County Airport (949.553.8332; www.embassysuites.com) will wrap up a $7 million renovation this spring that includes new soft goods in its suites, upgrades to its 3,650 square feet of meeting space and an expanded fitness center.
Coastal Orange County
- The Fairmont Newport Beach (949.476.2001; www.fairmont.com), formerly the Sutton Place Hotel, completed a $36 million renovation last year and just opened the 8,000-square-foot Willow Stream Spa, featuring eight treatment rooms. The renovation included enhancements to the property’s guest rooms, which received new decor, luxury bedding and high-tech amenities such as high-definition, flat-screen TVs, Bose DVD players and wired high-speed Internet access, as well upgrades to the property’s fitness center and business center, and a redesigned, heated sky pool with a deck and cabanas.
- The Resort at Pelican Hill (www.pelicanhill.com) is slated to open in Newport Beach by the end of 2008 next to the Pelican Hill Golf Club. The 204-room property will be geared toward small corporate meetings and incentives.
- Joie de Vivre Hospitality(506.876.3197; www.jdvhospitality.com) will debut a 150-room boutique hotel as part of The Strand, a mixed-use development opening in spring 2008 in Huntington Beach. The property will feature 3,000 square feet of meeting space, a spa and a fine dining restaurant.
