  • Last month San Antonio opened the Museo Alameda, the largest Latino museum in the U.S. The museum, which showcases Latino history, culture, art, and live performance, focuses on the Latino experience in America, from the past through the future. Museo Alameda has 20,000 square feet of exhibition space housing seven galleries, four of them rotational, including a Smithsonian Gallery, with access to more than 1.5 million objects from the Smithsonian Institution. A sculpture garden showcases works from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., while a designated project space called Proyectos offers up-and-coming and established artists a room to create new works.   • Last year, Staybridge Suites set its goal to raise $75,000 to build a new villa as part of the expansion at the Give Kids the World Village (GKWV) in Orlando, Fla. Staybridge Suites exceeded this goal, and groundbreaking for the new villa took place March 1, just after the opening of Staybridge’s 100th hotel in Tallahassee, Fla.
