  • InterContinental Milwaukee (414.276.8686; www.intercontinentalmilwaukee.com) is the new flag over the former Wyndham Milwaukee City Center. Refurbished guest rooms feature flat-panel TVs, luxury bedding and Wi-Fi Internet access, and the property offers 12,000 square feet of event space.

  • The Pfister Hotel (414.273.8222; www.thepfister.com), Milwaukee’s premier luxury hotel, recently unveiled the WELL Spa, which occupies the same grounds that once housed a Turkish bath in the early 20th century. The facility consists of a spa, a salon and a fitness studio. The property also recently opened Mason Street Grill, a high-end restaurant featuring regional American dishes that reflect Wisconsin’s heritage. An open kitchen and live piano music are part of the scene.

  • Doubletree Hotel Milwaukee City Center (414.273.2950; www.hilton.com), formerly a Holiday Inn, is slated to open in June following a $6 million renovation of the property. Updates to guest rooms, the lobby and the restaurant are designed to make the hotel more attractive to business travelers.

  • Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin (414.765.9966; www.discoveryworld.org) recently debuted next to the Milwaukee Art Museum. The attraction features 120,000 square feet of exhibits, freshwater and saltwater aquariums, high-tech digital theaters, a glassed-in rooftop banquet area, and team-building programs. This summer, the three-masted Dennis Sullivan will be docked at the museum, and it will be available for corporate events and team-building programs.

  • Harley-Davidson Museum (www.harley-davidson.com) is scheduled to open in late summer 2008—in time for the company’s 150th anniversary. Situated on 20 riverside acres near downtown Milwaukee, the 130,000-square-foot complex will have meeting and special event facilities, in addition to exhibit spaces, a restaurant, a cafe, and a retail shop.

  • Potawatomi Bingo Casino (800.729.7244; www.paysbig.com) plans to complete a $240 million, 500,000-square-foot expansion in 2008. The project includes the addition of live entertainment space, 1,500 slot machines, 100 game tables, dining venues, and a six-story parking garage.
