Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach
Honolulu

What services can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?

Because of our relationship with so many of Waikiki’s top restaurants, we are able to secure preferred times and seating at restaurants for our Outrigger Waikiki guests. And some restaurants will send our guests appetizers “on the house.”

What are your group restaurant recommendations?
Casual: Yard House at Waikiki Beach Walk or Tiki’s at the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel.

Upscale: Chai’s Island Bistro at Aloha Tower Marketplace or Roy’s Restaurant, either at its location outside of Waikiki or its brand-new Waikiki Beach Walk location.

What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?
There are many: Esprit Lounge for Top 40 music, W Honolulu Bar, Zanzabar, Fashion 45, or Pearl at the Ala Moana Shopping Center.

Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?
The brand-new Waikiki Beach Walk district is great for shopping, dining and just people watching. Another nice area for a walk is around Kapiolani Park and the Honolulu Zoo, both of which are within walking distance from the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach.

Are there any quirky places we should check out?
The Contemporary Museum or a tour through Chinatown is great fun. The Haunted Tour provides scary stories told at local cemeteries and the old historic part of town.

If we only have a few hours, what should we definitely check out nearby?
The Waikiki Aquarium, U.S. Army Museum, Ala Moana Shopping Center, the brand-new Waikiki Beach Walk area, and the International Marketplace are all nearby the hotel and worth a visit.

What is the most unusual request you’ve had from a group?
A last-minute request for breakfast for 120 people. The same group requested a location and photographer to take a group photo.

A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away. What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?
Duke’s Waikiki, Tiki’s, Yard House, or Nick’s Fishmarket.

A delegate has one hour to spend exploring the city. What would you suggest?
Charter a limousine or sedan for a drive through downtown Honolulu, which would include Chinatown, Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha Statue, and the Kawaiahau Church.

What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?
The Aloha Week block party, the Outrigger-sponsored Spam Jam, Ukulele Jam, the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards Nominee Luncheon (the Grammys of Hawaiian music), and the annual Honolulu Boy’s Choir Christmas production are among some of the unique events we’ve hosted.
