- The 757-room Baltimore Hilton (800.HILTONS; www.hilton.com) is slated to open in August 2008. The $300 million hotel will be located adjacent to Camden Yards and connected to the Baltimore Convention Center by skywalk. The property will boast a 25,000-square-foot grand ballroom, a 15,000-square-foot junior ballroom and an additional 22,000 square feet meeting space.
- The 126-room Hampton Inn at Camden Yards (410.539.7888; www.baltimorehamptoninn.com) opened in December with 1,500 square feet of meeting space.
- The 123-room Holiday Inn Express (410.727.1818; www.ichotelsgroup.com) reopened last year after a $5 million renovation. The property offers two meeting rooms.
- The Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel (410.547.1200; www.marriott.com) began a $7 million renovation in February. The project will include updates to guest rooms, new designs for the lobby and Windows Restaurant, and the addition of a 2,000-square-foot ballroom. The property offers 586 guest rooms and 29,000 square feet of meeting space.
- The 707-room Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor became the Sheraton Baltimore City Center (410.752.1100; www.starwoodhotels.com) in January. The 27-story property offers more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space.
- The Harbor Court Hotel was reflagged the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore (410.234.0550; www.harborcourt.com) last year after a multimillion-dollar upgrade. The property offers 195 guest rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space.
- In 2006, Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel (410.962.8300; www.starwoodhotels.com) completed upgrades that included new guest room furniture and beds. Additional enhancements scheduled for 2007 include the renovation of guest room bathrooms and new flat-panel televisions. The property has 337 guest rooms and 17 meeting rooms.
- In 2006, Days Inn Inner Harbor (410.576.1000; www.daysinnerharbor.com) finished a $1 million renovation that included the addition of 17 king-size rooms and upgrades to its 250 guest rooms, as well as new audiovisual equipment in its 1,000-square-foot meeting room.
Annapolis and Anne Arundel County
- The Westin Annapolis (410.972.4300; www.starwoodhotels.com) will open in October with 225 guest rooms and 10 meeting rooms. The property will be the centerpiece of the $250 million, 12-acre Park Place Annapolis development, which will also offer retail stores, restaurants, office buildings, and condominiums.
- ASHA Companies plans to break ground later this year on The Crosswinds Resort (888.302.WIND; www.crosswindsbaltimore.com), a $375 million development that will include four hotels; a 120,000-square-foot conference center; a 145,000-square-foot water park; a spa; and retail, dining and entertainment venues. Located near Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), the project will feature the 350-room Crosswinds Hotel; a 350-room Crowne Plaza; a 200-room Hotel Indigo; and a 300-suite extended-stay property. The Crosswinds Resort is slated to open in late 2009.
- In September, the 260-room Westin Baltimore Washington Airport (443.577.2300; www.starwoodhotels.com) will open in Linthicum with 7,300 square feet of meeting space.
- The 203-room Sheraton Baltimore Washington Airport (443.577.2100; www.starwoodhotels.com) opened in May in Linthicum. The property has 4,600 square feet of meeting space.
- The 280-room Hilton Baltimore/BWI Airport (410.694.0808; www.hiltonbaltimorebwi.com) debuted last October with 12,000 square feet of meeting space.
