Connecticut
  • Foxwoods Resort Casino hired Christopher Lush as a national sales manager and Kelly Kazmark as a resort sales executive. Lush worked in sales for several hotels, including the Embassy Suites Hotel in Boston and the Providence Biltmore Hotel in Newport, R.I. He was most recently the national sales manager for the Grand Heritage Hotel Group. Kazmark served as sales manager at the Newport Harbor Hotel in Newport, R.I., as well as sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel and Spa.

Maryland
  • Michael West was named general manager for the Hilton Garden Inn and the Homewood Suites hotels that are under construction in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The co-joined properties are scheduled to open in summer 2007 and will be managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts. Prior to his promotion, West was general manager at the Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Town Center. … Tim Grambley was appointed general manager of the Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort in western Maryland, a title he held there from 2002 to 2005. Grambley most recently was general manager for Crowne Plaza Hotel and Hilton Garden Inn in St. Paul, Minn.

Massachusetts
  • Stephen T. Pole was hired as general manager at both the Doubletree Hotel Boston-Downtown and Doubletree Club Hotel Boston-Bayside. Pole most recently served as general manager of the Embassy Suites Hotel, Atlanta. … The Westin Copley Place, Boston named Edward Stanton hotel manager, where he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel. Stanton has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for nearly 20 years and also served as director of convention services at the Westin Copley Place property. … The Liberty Hotel has lined up several of its top positions, including Stuart Meyerson as general manager and Sean Reardon as director of sales and marketing. Meyerson was most recently general manager for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in Cambridge, Mass., and Newport, R.I. Reardon is the former director of sales and marketing for the Westin Copley Place, Boston. Other announcements include Alexis Anninos, associate director of sales; Jessica Keohane, sales manager; and Jessica Feldman, sales & marketing coordinator.

New Jersey
  • New Brunswick’s The Heldrich named Nicole Calabria as its catering sales manager. Calabria served in the same role at sister property the North Maple Inn in Basking Ridge, N.J., where she also worked as catering and sales assistant and business conference concierge.

New York
  • Benchmark Hospitality appointed Robert Villalta as its general manager of the Glen Cove Mansion Hotel and Conference Center, located on Long Island. Previously, Villalta was corporate director of operations of the Amsterdam Hospitality Group, overseeing properties in New York City, Miami and Charlotte, N.C. He has also served as general manager of The Dream Hotel in New York and as regional controller for the W Court Hotel and the W Tuscany Hotel, both in Manhattan. … Michael Newman took the helm as director of sales & marketing at the Doubletree Guest Suites-Times Square. Newman previously worked as director of sales & marketing at Manhattan’s Grand Hyatt New York and at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, N.J.

Pennsylvania
  • Michael Kauffeld was hired as general manager of the upcoming 200-room Sheraton, part of a $100 million convention center project in Erie. Kauffeld brings 17 years of experience in hotel-related sales, marketing, operations and engineering, most recently working as general manager of the Boulder Marriott Hotel in Boulder, Colo. The Sheraton is slated to open in March 2008.

Washington, D.C.
  • The Hyatt Regency Washington handed the reigns of director of sales and marketing to Telesa Via, who transferred there from the Hyatt Fairlakes in Fairfax, Va., where she held the same title. Via has served as director of sales at the Hyatt Dulles and senior sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, where she was later promoted to associate director of sales.
