- The San Jose McEnery Convention Center (408.295.9600; www.sjcc.com) is planning a renovation and expansion that will include the addition of a 35,000-square-foot ballroom. Completion of the first phase is set for 2010. A second phase, still in the planning stages, will add exhibit space and a second ballroom.
- The Crowne Plaza San Jose Downtown (408.998.0400; www.sanjosecp.com) recently completed a $7 million renovation of all 239 guest rooms, 6,600 square feet of meeting space and public areas.
- The Doubletree Hotel San Jose (408.453.4000; www.dtsj.com) recently wrapped up an $8 million makeover that included the renovation of all 505 guest rooms, meeting space and public areas.
Santa Clara
- The Santa Clara Convention Center (408.748.7000; www.santaclara.org) plans to soon break ground on a 24,000-square-foot ballroom. The $37 million addition is slated for completion in January 2009.
- The Hyatt Regency Santa Clara (408.200.1234; www.satanclara.hyatt.com) is scheduled to complete a $12 million renovation of all 501 rooms and suites in late August. The rooms are receiving new furniture, 32-inch, flat-panel TVs and expanded work stations with a variety of technology features.
- The Santa Clara Marriott (408.988.1500; www.marriott.com), which recently renovated its two ballrooms, will finish a $22 million renovation of all 754 guest rooms in November.
- The Plaza Suites Hotel, Santa Clara (408.748.9800; www.theplazasuites.com) completed a $19 million renovation of its 220 two-room suites and added a restaurant, business center and fitness center.
Menlo Park
- An expansion is in the planning stages for the 163-room Stanford Park Hotel (650.322.1234; www.stanfordparkhotel.com). Plans include the addition of 8,250 square feet of meeting space.
Palo Alto
- The Cardinal Hotel (650.323.5101; www.cadinalhotel.com) recently completed a refurbishment of its 61 guest rooms and public spaces.
