- The Pearl Hotel in San Diego, formerly the Sportsman’s Lodge, opened in August with 23 designer guest rooms, several with poolside views. - Doubletree Hotel San Diego Downtown, formerly a Radisson hotel, reopened following an $11 million renovation that included upgrades to its 333 guest rooms, dining facilities and 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. - Hyatt Regency Monterey is undergoing the second phase of a $45 million, three-phase transformation. Phase two includes extensive renovations to all 575 guest rooms, including its 32 suites, and the President’s House. Rooms will offer 32-inch plasma televisions and wireless Internet access. Completed rooms were made available in mid-September, while the remaining room renovations will be completed by May 2008. The first phase, completed in April, included the transformation of the hotel’s lobby, lounge and restaurant. The final phase will entail the addition of an 8,000-square-foot spa, including a health club and 12 spa suites, scheduled for completion by the end of 2008.
