Washington, D.C.
  • The Jefferson Hotel (202.347.2200; www.thejeffersonwashingtondc.com) recently closed for a property-wide restoration that will include new guest rooms, restaurants and event spaces. The property is scheduled to reopen in fall 2008.

  • The Hilton Washington (202.483.3000; www.washington.hilton.com) is undergoing a $100 million top-to-bottom renovation following its $290 million purchase by sports celebrity Magic Johnson and investment partners. Enhancements to the property’s guest rooms and 110,000 square feet of event space are parts of the project.

Virginia
  • Westin Alexandria (703.253.8601; www.westin.com) is slated to open Nov. 1 with 319 guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting space, including the largest ballroom in Old Town.

  • Hotel Palomar Arlington (703.351.9170; www.hotelpalomar-arlington.com) is scheduled to debut in November. The property will offer 154 guest units, panoramic views of the nation’s capital and 3,200 square feet of function space.

  • Hotel Monaco Alexandria (202.939.6441; www.kimptonhotels.com), formerly a Holiday Inn Select property, will open this month. A chef-driven restaurant, 241 guest rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space are among the highlights of the property.

  • Arlington’s Key Bridge Marriott (703.524.6000; www.marriott.com), Marriott International’s longest operating hotel, recently unveiled a new 6,000-square-foot ballroom following a $5 million renovation. The space offers floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Washington, D.C., the Potomac River and Georgetown.

  • Arlington Residence Court Hotel (703.524.4000; www.arlingtoncourthotel.com) is a new extended-stay member of the Clarion Collection, following a $16 million renovation of the former Quality Inn Courthouse. The property has 187 guest rooms and 4,900 square feet of meeting space.

Maryland
  • Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport (410.694.0808; www.baltimoreairport.hilton.com) recently debuted with 280 guest rooms and 11,000 square feet of meeting space.

  • Sheraton Baltimore Washington Airport (443.577.2100; www.sheraton.com/bwi) opened in May with 203 guest rooms and 4,600 square feet of function space.

  • Westin Baltimore Washington Airport (443.577.2300; www.westin.com/bwi) is scheduled to open in November with 260 guest rooms and 7,300 square feet of function space.

  • Westin Annapolis (410.972.4300; www.westin.com/annapolis) debuted in July with 225 guest rooms and 11,000 square feet of meeting space. ? The former Radisson Annapolis was reflagged the Doubletree Hotel Annapolis (410.224.3150; www.doubletreeannapolis.com) following a major renovation. The hotel features a conference center with 12,000 square feet of function space.

  • Four Points by Sheraton New Carrollton (301.459.6700; www.starwoodhotels.com/fourpoints) recently opened with 197 guest rooms and four meeting venues.
