What are your group restaurant recommendations?
The strength of the city’s scene is in “ethnic” dining. Los Angeles has an enormous variety of restaurants. Japanese food in particular is a staple of Los Angeles’ haute cuisine scene, with places like Urasawa and Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills, Nobu in Malibu and Koi in Hollywood. California-style and contemporary cuisine is predominant, also, and I would recommend great venues such as Spago in Beverly Hills, The Foundry on Melrose, Adobe Restaurant and Lounge in Santa Monica, and Sona Restaurant in West Hollywood.

What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?
Bars and nightclubs are everywhere in the city, and diverse enough to satisfy all groups and needs. I recommend Ritual Restaurant and Nightclub, Element and Les Deux in the heart of Hollywood; Cabana Club in West Hollywood.

Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?
All the Beverly Hills area—Rodeo Drive, Beverly Drive and their surroundings—is a great and easy walk for shopping and million-dollar house-watching, and is safe and relaxing. The Santa Monica area and its Third Street Promenade is a very convenient neighborhood for pedestrians, as well as The Grove and Farmers’ Market.

Are there any quirky places we should check out?
Yes, there are many unique, quirky places to check out in Los Angeles, such as Venice Beach and its famous Ocean Front Walk and street performers; Melrose Street with all types and ranges of edgy designers; and the Silver Lake area, which is best known as an eclectic gathering of the creative community.

If we only have an hour or two, what should we definitely check out nearby?
Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica Beach.

What is an unusual request from a group?
To rent an elephant for an Indian wedding and get the city to temporarily close off a street, or to procure a 150-foot luxury yacht during the peak summer season for a family from Saudi Arabia.

A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away. What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?
This kind of request would be easily accommodated by Japanese restaurant Gonpachi, Maestro’s Steakhouse, Chinese restaurant Mr. Chow, Spago, and Italian restaurant Trattoria Ago.

What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?
We’ve hosted the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts), the Women in Film event and the Los Angeles Films Critics Association awards and dinner.
