What are three of the hippest off-site venues in Atlantic City that you would recommend for groups?
  • House of Blues Atlantic City: A freestanding entertainment venue, House of Blues Atlantic City accommodates groups of 100 people to 2,500 people. Groups book House of Blues all the time and they enjoy the Creole artwork and the outstanding food and beverage. The venue has a music hall; a ballroom for 500 people; and the Tibetan-style Foundation Room, a private club within House of Blues for smaller, more upscale and intimate dinners. House of Blues is a known product that groups look forward to, and planners find it’s cost-effective to do an event with entertainment there. The dedicated sales staff has the expertise to help with music and other events.

  • MIXX and mur.mur: Nightclubs in general are hip in Atlantic City, but I’ll point out two: MIXX and mur.mur, both at Borgata for 50 people to 400 people. Both are available for events with unique decor, high-end food and beverage, and customized entertainment, or you can bring in your own. MIXX is where the big celebrities hang out. Anyone who’s anyone in Atlantic City goes there, including Jennifer Lopez and Michael Jordan. And mur.mur is similar; it’s an energetic nightclub. Both will close for private functions, and once the event is over at mur.mur the group can go to MIXX, and vice versa. Planners work directly with the sales and catering staff at Borgata, who will help with entertainment.

  • Beach Bars: Beach bars are seasonally available for groups in Atlantic City, including Bally’s Bikini Beach Bar and Trump Plaza’s Beach Bar. There was a time you couldn’t walk on our miles of coast with a cocktail, but now there’s a growth in beachfront bars are it’s a special draw in the Northeast. Groups can sit on the beach in a tropical setting with palm trees, looking at the Atlantic Ocean.
