Describe your event.
It was the annual Worldwide Sales Meeting with 500 attendees at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina.
Why did you decide to host the meeting in San Diego?
It’s only a couple hours from the corporate office, everything is centralized, and it’s a beautiful and safe city.
What surprised you the most about San Diego?
How many great venues there are to choose from. We did a street party in front of the Oakley Store and a party on the Midway. We blocked off the streets in front of the Oakley Store for the street party, and we had food and drinks, entertainment and a stunt show with skateboarding, BMX bikes and motorcycle street bikes. For the Midway party, we had food, drinks, bands, a DJ—the whole bit. We had the flight simulators going, and some of the attendees who were winners of a race held that day were transported to the ship via helicopter.

How does San Diego compare to other cities where you have hosted meetings?
Probably the best so far. Everything is centralized and I love that. It makes transportation so much easier with a group of 500. Plus, the city has tons of options as far as activities, events, hotels, and restaurants that can accommodate a lot of people.
