ASE Productions Inc.
Oklahoma City
Describe your event:
ASE Productions Inc. is an independent event planning firm located in Oklahoma City. One specific event was the Oklahoma Venture Forum’s Bricktown Capital Conference to attract out-of-state venture capitalists and investors. There were 300 attendees.
Why did you decide to host the meeting in Oklahoma City?
It just made sense to hold the event in Oklahoma City so that investors could see firsthand what was happening here.
What surprised you the most about Oklahoma City?
We live in Oklahoma City and love it, but we often hear comments during the conferences from our West Coast and Northeast guests that Oklahoma City is very modern and up-to-date and one of the warmest, friendliest places they have visited.
What did your attendees seem to enjoy the most?
They love the historic Bricktown area, and they are always surprised by all the restaurants and entertainment in the area.
Was anybody particularly helpful at a venue or property?
The Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel, Nonna’s Restaurant and Deep Fork Grill Catering all really stood out on this meeting.
What were some of the unique off-site venues that you used?
Our pre-conference day treated them to a tour of the aerospace sector at Tinker Air Force Base and a golf outing to Karsten Creek Golf Course. They enjoyed a welcome reception that started with canal boat rides that toured the Bricktown historic district and then dropped them off for an authentic Oklahoma barbecue at the Chesapeake Boathouse and then dessert at one of Oklahoma City’s finest restaurants, Nonna’s. The last evening, the group enjoyed a final event at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
How does Oklahoma City compare to other cities where you have hosted meetings?
I have recently planned meetings in Charlotte, N.C.; Columbus, Ohio; and Dallas, and all were great. Oklahoma City offers everything they do and at very affordable rates. The historic Bricktown area will remind you a little of San Antonio. I like to refer to Oklahoma City as the affordable San Antonio.
