  • The National WWII Museum in New Orleans teamed up with Hall of Fame baseball players, baseball historians and authors to present Duty, Honor, Country: When Baseball Went to War, an exploration of baseball’s role on the home front and even the battlefront during World War II. During the war, the baseball commissioner issued the famous Green Light Letter to keep the game going. Baseball continued to be played at home and crowds packed the stadiums as never before. In this exhibit, presented by Humana, visitors can listen to Bob Feller, Dom DiMaggio, Johnny Pesky, Lou Brissie, Morrie Martin, Jerry Coleman and many others comment on the topic. Also on display are rarely seen artifacts, memorabilia and photographs from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and private collections. The exhibit continues through March 30. For more information, call 504.527.6012 or visit www.baseball.nationalww2museum.org.
