  • The Embassy Suites Portland Maine, recently purchased by Rim Hospitality, is undergoing a $4.1 million renovation of all public spaces and guest rooms. Maryland
  • Baltimore’s Inn at The Colonnade Baltimore, A Doubletree Hotel recently underwent a makeover. All 125 guest rooms were completely redesigned and updated with flat-panel televisions and Internet access. The hotel also features Wi-Fi access in its public spaces. The main addition to the Colonnade is its fully enclosed events tent located in the courtyard. The tent measures 2,400 square feet and can accommodate up to 150 for events.   • The Copley Square Hotel, located in Boston’s Back Bay, closed temporarily in January to undergo a $14 million renovation. The extensive project includes upgrades to the interior of the building to transform the property into a four-star boutique hotel. The 143 redesigned rooms will feature new interiors and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel will feature three venues for dining. The grand reopening is scheduled for late spring.   • The 191-room Hotel Indigo Boston Newton Riverside recently completed a year-long renovation and conversion.   • Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City is readying its hotel tower addition, The Water Club at Borgata. The $400 million tower will feature 800 guest rooms and suites, 18,000 square feet of meeting space, a two-story spa with 15 treatment rooms and a fitness center, and is on schedule for a summer 2008 opening. The Water Club is a joint venture between Boyd Gaming and MGM Mirage, and will bring the total investment into the resort destination to $1.7 billion.   • The Oncenter Complex in Syracuse unveiled its newly redesigned grand ballroom in January, the first major renovation for the ballroom since the center opened 15 years ago. The redesign is part of a series of updates at the Oncenter Complex. In December the complex officially renamed its 99,000-square-foot convention center the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at Oncenter. In addition, the Westin Syracuse Hotel is scheduled to open adjacent to the convention center in 2009.   • The 238-room Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport, formerly a Plaza Hotel, opened in January following property-wide renovations.
