April showers bring May flowers, so the saying goes, and it seems that a lot of precipitation has been watering the fields of the luxury hotel segment as of late.
While the definition of luxury has always been a fast-moving target, there seems to be some consensus that today’s high-end property distinguishes itself more and more through refining the guest experience by reflecting the culture, art and food of the destination it serves—in much the same way boutique hotels have done.
