  • The 413-room Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in Palm Beach is undergoing a $40 million renovation slated for completion this summer. The first phase began with the shutting down of the South Tower of guest rooms, which will be the first area to complete the makeover. Also part of the first phase, the lobby area and atrium rooms are getting upgrades. The next phase of renovations will begin this spring and will include an upgrade to the pool and La Vista Restaurant.   • In February, the Florida Keys’ Hawks Cay Resort took the wraps off a $35 million renovation. The resort, located on a private island, features a 177-room inn and 225 two-and three-bedroom villas. Waterfront meeting space totals 25,000 square feet, including the 5,554-square-foot ballroom, while outdoor venues overlooking the Atlantic Ocean are also available. The upgrade was applied to the guest rooms and villas, and new public areas were added. The 4,400-square-foot oceanfront resort pool, one of five resort swimming pools, now features a multitiered sun terrace and private terraces and cabanas, all attended by poolside valets. The lobby renovation was the final step in a $56 million improvement package completed last year that included a complete refurbishment of the adjacent Players Stadium golf course, the construction of a new clubhouse and upgrade to the guest rooms.   • The Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya, located along the Yucatan peninsula, recently debuted with 128 rooms.
