What are three restaurants you would recommend for groups meeting in Madison?

  • Laredo’s: Laredo’s is a Mexican restaurant with three locations in the area—the east, west and far-west sides of town. The food is wonderful and the choices are plenty. The reason I recommend Laredo’s is because the service is amazing, the prices are less expensive [than other restaurants], and the food is delicious. Laredo’s can accommodate larger groups at the east side location—up to 40 people. There is a lunch rush every day, and the dinner rush begins about 5:30 but you never have to wait long for a table. But the No. 1 reason I recommend Laredo’s: the salsa!

  • Marigold’s: Marigold’s is a quaint little place on South Pinckney Street off the Capitol Square of downtown Madison. Marigold’s serves breakfast and lunch and will cater for large groups for meetings as well as cocktail receptions and any other event. It’s a fresh take on old favorites with a fun twist. Marigold’s is a small place but the service is quick. In the warmer months, they have outdoor seating in front of the restaurant.

  • Paisan’s: Paisan’s is Italian and a landmark of sorts in the city. Once located on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, it has relocated to Wilson Street in downtown Madison. It offers one of Madison’s best outdoor dining areas, overlooking Lake Monona. The catering is done by its sister restaurant, Porta Bella. Paisan’s is a quaint location for up to 20 people. It’s been voted Madison’s best pizza and homemade pasta again and again.
