What are three great ways for groups to experience Austin’s rich musical heritage?

I have lived in Austin for 13 years and have seen many changes in and around the city. One thing that never changes is the quality of our music and entertainment scene. In Austin, we take our reputation of being the “Live Music Capital of the World” very seriously. When working with a group, I strive to translate that reputation in new and creative ways.

  • I try to focus on providing our groups with experiences that are uniquely Austin. The Gibson Room at Maggie Mae’s is an amazing place to start. Real Gibson guitars and incredible black and white photographs of music legends, including the Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix, decorate the walls. The rock ’n’ roll vibe of the room gives you a real sense of history. Each group we bring to the Gibson Room feels like they are having a VIP experience.

  • A great way to accommodate a small group is to arrange for a pre-concert dinner at One World Theatre. Enjoying a fabulous feast and a show while imbibing the view of the Hill Country is an awesome way to showcase our city from a different perspective and give our guests a little variety.

  • The newly opened Long Center for the Performing Arts has also opened up other great options for a group. From lyrical opera to the symphonic orchestra, the center does a wonderful job of exposing our visitors to our diverse community’s musical interests.
