Albuquerque
- The Albuquerque Convention Center (505.768.4675; www.albuquerquecc.com) recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation that included the refurbishment of 17 meeting rooms and the installation of new flat-panel LCD kiosks and free wireless Internet hot zones in the lobby areas.
- The Isleta Casino & Resort (505.724.3800; www.isleta-casino.com) is unveiling a new hotel complex this summer that will include 200 rooms and suites, 30,000 square feet of conference and banquet space and a spa.
- The Hyatt Regency Albuquerque (505.842.1234; www.albuquerque.hyatt.com) recently wrapped up a guest room renovation that includes new carpeting, wall coverings and electronic upgrades such as flat-panel TVs and iHome alarm clock systems.
- The Doubletree Hotel Albuquerque (505.247.3344; www.doubletree.com) refurbished all of its 295 guest rooms, which now have new furnishings and high-speed Internet access.
- The former La Posada de Albuquerque (505.724.9105; www.gemstoneresorts.com), which has been closed for a major renovation, will reopen as a luxury boutique hotel named Andaluz late this year. The historic hotel, which was originally opened in 1939 by Hilton Hotels founder and New Mexico native Conrad Hilton, will have 107 guest rooms and 7,346 square feet of meeting space.
- The Albuquerque Grand Airport Hotel (505.843.7000; www.albuquerquegrandairporthotel.com), formerly the Wyndham Albuquerque Airport, is undergoing a major makeover of its guest rooms, meeting space, public space, restaurant, and bar. At the conclusion of the facelift later this year, the hotel will become a Sheraton.
- The Park Plaza Hotel & Conference Center Albuquerque was renamed the Radisson Hotel Albuquerque (505.888.3311; www.radisson.com/albuquerquenm) last fall. The hotel completed a meeting space and guest room renovation.
Santa Fe
- Santa Fe’s Sweeney Convention Center was leveled in February 2006 to make way for the Santa Fe Convention Center (505.955.6200; www.santafe.org). The facility, on target to open in August, will offer about 40,000 square feet of function space, including a 3,000-square-foot lobby, a 17,900-square-foot ballroom, several meeting rooms, and a 6,000-square-foot courtyard for events.
- The Hilton Santa Fe Golf Resort & Spa at Buffalo Thunder (505.455.5555; www.buffalothunderresort.com) is opening later this year on the Pojoaque Pueblo 10 miles north of Santa Fe. The luxury resort will include 390 guest rooms, 40,000 square feet of meeting space, 27 holes of golf, a full-service spa, and a casino.
- La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa (505.986.0000; www.rockresorts.com) completed a $6.2 million renovation in May that included the addition of a new restaurant and the refurbishment of all 157 guest rooms.
- Encantado, An Auberge Resort (505.988.9955; www.encantadoresort.com) is slated to debut in August with a full-service spa, 65 luxury casitas and approximately 4,900 square feet of meeting space.
- The Eldorado Hotel & Spa (505.988.4455; www.eldoradohotel.com) completed a $7 million renovation that included enhancements to the hotel’s 20,000 square feet of meeting space and a refurbishment of all 219 guest rooms. New decor at the hotel features local textile art and Southwestern furnishings.
- The Inn and Spa at Loretto (505.988.5531; www.innatloretto.com) completed a $7.5 million renovation in May that included a new exterior facade, meeting room upgrades and a renovation of all 134 guest rooms.
- The Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza (505.988.2811; www.hilton.com) wrapped up a renovation of its public areas and an expansion of its fitness center last year.
- The Inn of the Anasazi (505.988.3030; www.innoftheanasazi.com) completed a redesign of the 57-room property and added a new outdoor dining venue overlooking Santa Fe Plaza. The hotel is also featuring a new series of rotating exhibits of local artwork.
Taos
- El Monte Sagrado Living Resort (505.758.3502; www.elmontesagrado.com) completed an expansion that included the addition of 48 guest rooms, 7,000 square feet of function space and outdoor dining to its restaurant.
