- The Cincinnati Art Museum is presenting China Design Now, the first exhibition in the U.K. and U.S. to explore the recent explosion of contemporary design in China and the first to attempt to understand the impact of rapid economic development on architecture and design in the country’s major cities. The exhibition covers a variety of architectural projects, including the 2008 Olympic national stadium, as well as the latest in fashion and graphics. The exhibition takes the form of a journey through three rapidly expanding cities—Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen—each a starting point for the exploration of different design fields. Around 100 designers are featured in a display that focuses on architecture, fashion and graphic design as well as film, photography, product and furniture designs, youth culture, and digital media.
