  • The Keating Hotel in San Diego unveiled 3,000 square feet of meeting space in the historic Mercantile Building located adjacent to the hotel. Today, the Keating Hotel has restored the space, built in 1892, back to its original historic standard. Guests can choose to enter through the hotel lobby or by an executive grand wooden staircase that leads to the atrium-like, 1,000-square-foot foyer that can host business conferences or cocktail parties. Surrounding the foyer are four flexible brick-walled meeting rooms—ranging from 185 to 850 square feet—all featuring interactive audiovisual equipment and Wi-Fi access.   • Warner Center Marriott, in Woodland Hills, completed an extensive $6 million renovation of its 474 guest rooms and suites, and guest room corridors. The renovation project, which began last December, included the installation of new 32-inch flat-screen televisions with the option of listening to an iPod through the sound system.   • Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa recently completed a $28 million guest room renovation project to its oceanfront Kealohilani Tower.   • Casa de Sierra Nevada, the boutique Orient-Express Hotel in the city of San Miguel de Allende, debuted its Laja Spa in July. The spa derives its name from San Miguel’s river, Rio Laja. Many of the treatments use ingredients sourced from the local area, such as the Laja Stone Experience, where stones from the Laja River are heated and used to massage the body. The hotel is in the final stages of a $3 million conversion from a Holiday Inn.
