What are three of the hottest dining experiences you would recommend for groups visiting Santa Fe?
- El Farol: Located at the top of Santa Fe’s best known gallery district on Canyon Road in a 173-year-old hacienda, El Farol is a city standard. Known as the oldest restaurant and bar in town, the setting is traditional Santa Fe but the feeling is upbeat and energized. El Farol’s menu is based on tapas and Spanish cuisine with steaks, fish and chops, too. There is always live entertainment, from folk to blues to salsa, and the bar scene is one of the very best in town.
- Cantina at La Casa Sena: Groups looking for something different for dinner will find fine food in an entertaining atmosphere at this fun and casual cantina. The waitstaff serves diners and breaks into jazz and Broadway tunes throughout the evening. Both the food and the music are excellent. Dinner fare is varied but with an emphasis on Northern New Mexican cuisine, and the performers are spirited and full of talent. Located in cozy Sena Plaza downtown, the Cantina at La Casa Sena has been a Santa Fe favorite for years.
- O’Keeffe Cafe: Whether outside on the comfortable patio or indoors in rooms that artist Georgia O’Keeffe could have inspired, the O’Keeffe Cafe delivers fine dining in comfortable, elegant surroundings. Located downtown next to the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in what were once Civil War officers’ barracks, the cafe features an eclectic, contemporary menu and an outstanding wine list. It’s one of the city’s most group-friendly restaurants.
