- The 600,000-square-foot Albuquerque Convention Center (505.768.4575; www.albuquerquecc.com) recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation.
- Isleta Casino & Resort (505.244.8246; www.isletaeagle.com) opened its newly constructed hotel and convention center July 1, augmenting the development’s casino portion. The property, located seven miles south of Albuquerque International Sunport, has 200 guest units and more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space.
- The historic La Posada de Albuquerque Hotel is closed for a $24 million renovation and scheduled to reopen in late 2008 as Andaluz (505.724.9105; www.hotelandaluz.com), featuring event space for up to 150 people.
- The Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown (505.881.0000; www.starwoodhotels.com) plans to complete a $25 million renovation this month, including upgrades to its 17,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Hyatt Regency Albuquerque (505.842.1234; www.albuquerque.hyatt.com) recently finished a multimillion-dollar guest room renovation.
- The Albuquerque Marriott Hotel (505.881.6800; www.marriott.com) recently wrapped up a renovation of its 411 guest rooms and hotel corridors.
- The Radisson Hotel Albuquerque (505.888.3311; www.radisson.com/albuquerquenm), formerly the Park Plaza Hotel & Conference Center, recently completed a $20 million renovation of its 312 guest rooms and meeting space. Additionally, its 23,000-square-foot waterpark is scheduled to open in late 2008.
Santa Fe
- The 72,000-square-foot, LEED-certified Santa Fe Community Convention Center (505.955.6200; www.santafe.org) opened in September. The two-building facility features 40,000 square feet of function space.
- North of Santa Fe, Hilton Santa Fe Golf Resort & Spa at Buffalo Thunder (505.455.5555; www.hiltonworldresorts.com) recently debuted with 390 guest units and 66,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Rancho Encantado (505.982.3537; www.rancho-encantado.com) recently opened about 15 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. The 65-casita property features the Acacia Spa, a restaurant, an equestrian center and meeting space.
- The New Mexico History Museum (505.476.5100; www.nmhistorymuseum.org) at the Palace of the Governors is scheduled to open in 2009 with a 200-person auditorium.
- The Santa Fe Railyard (505.982.3373; www.sfrailyardcc.org) is a 50-acre project that includes public space, a 12-acre park, a commercial and retail area and the new Santa Fe Farmer’s Market building with 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
Taos
- The Taos Convention Center (575.758.5792; www.taosconventioncenter.com) recently added the Don Fernando Hall, which accommodates up to 450 people and opens to a shaded patio ideal for receptions or alfresco dining.
- El Monte Sagrado Resort and Spa (505.758.3502; www.elmontesagrado.com) recently added 44 guest rooms as well as a ballroom and meeting space, bringing its total event space to 7,000 square feet.
