What are three great ways for groups to experience the natural beauty of Door County?
- Recreation: Between the sheltered waters of Green Bay and the vast blue expanse of Lake Michigan, Door County has more than 10,000 acres of state-owned green space. For the casual adventurer, there are miles of biking and hiking trails, backcountry snowshoeing and areas for wildlife watching. For those seeking more action, opportunities abound for sailing, fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling and more.
- Golf: Door County’s 300 miles of shoreline enclose not only the Midwest’s choice vacation destination, but scenic golf courses that will challenge you, whatever your skill level. Eleven golf courses call the Door County Peninsula home, with a range of green fees and lessons. The great thing about golfing in Door County is the green doesn’t end at the 18th hole.
- Guided Tours: One of the most popular group activities is to hire a local guide and experience the peninsula through the eyes of an expert. Door County Trolley offers four trolley tours. One of the most popular is the tour of the lighthouses. The striking beauty of Door County’s most famous landmarks still hearkens back to a simpler time, a time when waterway traffic ruled the Great Lakes. If your group is up for more action you can experience charter cruises, charter fishing, sailing cruises and kayak lessons. A visit to Door County isn’t complete without crossing “Death’s Door” on the Washington Island Ferry, with an entertaining overview of the island’s history.
