  • The Sheldon Museum of Art is presenting TRANSactions: Contemporary Latin American and Latino Art from the beginning of November through Jan. 18. The exhibition showcases art created by contemporary Latin American and Latino artists spanning geographical, cultural, political and aesthetic borders. The exhibition features works by 48 artists, and highlights how these artists, despite their differences, have commonly explored the question of identity through their own cultures and life experiences. Notable artists in the exhibition include Ana Mendieta, Vik Muniz, John Valadez, Perry Vasquez, Victor Payan and Gustavo Artigas. Media includes traditional art methods such as painting, photography, clay and glass as well as techniques involving installations, video, fabric, silk, beeswax and plastic.   • A new team challenge course at Cedar Creek Conference Center in New Haven, Mo., allows for customized team building. The four stations of the outdoor course, known as the Western Team Challenge Course, can be used for multiple activities and exercises. Groups of at least eight people can use the course, and the client determines how much time they will devote to it.   • The InterContinental Chicago O’Hare is offering planners and attendees a creative setting in its Museo art gallery, showcasing works by famous artists such as Dali and Kimler, along with well-known local Chicago-area artists. Groups have access to a unique interactive live art performance, such as an exclusive artist who creates a work of art during a luncheon. Group members are invited to schedule a complimentary champagne tour of Museo and its museum-style setting, while original works of art appear in every guest room and are also displayed throughout the hotel’s 53,000 square feet of meeting space.
