  • Oakbrook Hotels in September completed another phase of a multimillion-dollar renovation of its flagship property, Pheasant Run Resort, located in St. Charles. The renovation, which began in 2000, includes the recent upgrade of the resort’s Courtyard wing. More than 100 guest rooms were involved in the renovation.   • The old Tribune Building, former home of the Tribune-Star in downtown Terre Haute, opened in October as the Candlewood Suites Terre Haute. The hotel features 81 suites, with 16 more suites to open once the new Terre Haute Children’s Museum, now under construction next door, is completed early next year. The hotel will occupy the fourth floor, which is separate from the museum, giving the hotel 97 suites. Each room is slightly different in design, with one- and two-bedroom suites available.   • W Hotels Worldwide recently debuted W Minneapolis-The Foshay. Modeled after the Washington Monument, the Foshay Tower was built by multimillionaire real estate developer Wilbur B. Foshay in 1929 and was considered an Art Deco masterpiece. The soaring 447-foot tower tapers up from a 7,000-square-foot base to a 3,800-square-foot pinnacle. The hotel preserves many of the building’s original Art Deco design elements and features 229 guest rooms, including 18 suites, a gym and 6,700 square feet of meeting and event space. All guest rooms and suites feature 36-inch flat screen televisions, as well as high-speed Internet access.
