High Point
- Proximity Hotel (336.379.8200; www.proximityhotel.com) recently achieved LEED Platinum status from the U.S. Green Building Council. According to the council, the 147-room boutique hotel, built in 2007, is the first hotel in the nation to achieve the council’s highest green rating. The facility’s Weaver and Revolution rooms and four lobby level suites create 7,300 square feet of event space.
- The 80-unit Comfort Suites Four Seasons (336.235.4002; www.comfortsuites.com) recently opened within walking distance of the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center and the Four Season Town Centre shopping mall.
- Doubletree Hotel Greensboro (336.292.4004; www.doubletree.com), formerly a Howard Johnson property, recently finished a renovation. The 175-room property features more than 4,400 square feet of meeting space.
- Courtyard Greensboro Airport (336.668.1090; www.marriott.com) will open in January with 124 guest units and 575 square feet of meeting space. The property will be located 10 miles from downtown Greensboro.
Winston-Salem
- Hilton Garden Inn Winston-Salem/Hanes Mall (336.765.1298; www.winstonsalemhanesmall.hgi.com) recently opened with 112 guest rooms and more than 2,300 square feet of event space. Amenities include a heated indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center.
- Quality Inn Coliseum (336.767.8240; www.qualityinnws.com) recently completed a $500,000 renovation that included enhancements to meeting facilities, accommodations and public space. The property has 135 guest units and 3,100 square feet of meeting space.
- Holiday Inn Express Downtown West (336.721.0220; www.ichotelsgroup.com) recently wrapped up a $1.5 million renovation and conversion from a Comfort Inn. The 122-room facility, located adjacent to the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, features a conference room.
- Village Inn Golf and Conference Center (336.766.9121; www.thevillageinn.com), located in Clemmons, N.C., about 10 miles outside Winston-Salem, recently completed renovations to its lobby and 15,000 square feet of meeting space. The center has 144 guest rooms and is minutes from Tanglewood Park and its two 18-hole golf courses.
High Point
- Radisson Hotel High Point (336.889.8888; www.radisson.com/highpointnc) is undergoing a renovation that is expected to be completed in 2009. The downtown property features 12,500 square feet of meeting space.
