Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City (609.441.5000; www.harrahs.com) opened its 47-story, 964-room tower this year. The expansion makes Harrah’s the tallest hotel casino in Atlantic City. The property’s 23,000-square-foot indoor pool, enclosed by a 90-foot-high glass dome, is the biggest in town. The tower offers 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
The Water Club at Borgata (800.800.8817; www.thewaterclubhotel.com) opened in June. The signature hotel by Borgata offers 800 rooms in a 43-story tower and a two-story, 36,000-square-foot spa. The $400 million complex includes 18,000 square feet of meeting space. As its name suggests, water is a featured element at the facility, which has five pools.
At press time, The Chairman Tower at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort (609.449.1000; www.trumptaj.com) was expected to be fully opened in December. The first 20 floors were unveiled in August. The 782-room tower includes 72 suites, and each guest unit is equipped with a 50-inch plasma television. The tower also has 3,600 square feet of meeting space.
Courtyard by Marriott Atlantic City (609.345.7070; www.courtyardatlanticcityhotel.com) recently opened with 206 guest rooms. The non-casino hotel features meeting rooms, a boardroom, a fitness center and a bar.
The Chelsea (800.548.3030; www.thechelsea-ac.com) debuted in July as Atlantic City’s first non-gaming boutique hotel. The property features 330 guest rooms and 12 suites, as well as the Sea Spa, which has a year-round outdoor saltwater pool. The hotel is the result of a comprehensive renovation of a Holiday Inn and a Howard Johnson.
