  • Scottsdale's InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa opened in November in Paradise Valley. The 34-acre resort includes 253 upscale guest rooms and 40 suites, including two presidential suites, 34 single-family villas, six restaurants and venues, a 31,000-square- foot destination spa and salon, five pools and more than 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space.   • Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in January is opening its second property under its new brand, Andaz. Located on Los Angeles’ vibrant Sunset Strip, the legendary Hyatt West Hollywood is being transformed into Andaz West Hollywood. The 14-story hotel will offer panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills on one side and the Sunset Strip and downtown Los Angeles on the other. Many of the 257 guest rooms, including 20 suites, have been designed with a glass-enclosed sunroom that overlooks Sunset Boulevard. Andaz West Hollywood will support a network of local creative personalities from around its neighborhood featured in art, film, music, fashion and design.   • Setai San Diego, the new 184-room premier luxury hotel located in downtown San Diego’s financial district, will open its doors in early December. The property will feature a spa, gourmet restaurant, exclusive Grand Penthouse, 7,000-square-foot pool deck, recording studio, private screening room and 20,000 square feet of event and meeting space. The hotel’s 184 rooms include 37 suites and three penthouse suites. Seventeen one-bedroom suites feature balconies with city views. Another 20 suites come equipped with full Italian kitchens.   • The Resort at Mundo Imperial, a grand 805-room hotel, is opening in stages starting last month with 250 rooms. The remainder will open throughout first-quarter 2009. The resort will feature a fitness center, five swimming pools, tennis courts, executive and club levels with concierge staff and 100 exclusive suites with personalized butler service.
