Los Angeles
- JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. Live (213.742.6855; www.lalivemarriott.com) is scheduled to open in spring 2010 as part of the $2.5 billion L.A. Live sports and entertainment complex. The hotel will feature 879 guest rooms and suites, along with more than 77,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is aiming to achieve LEED certification. The facility will serve as the Los Angeles Convention Center’s headquarters hotel.
- The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles (310.338.8600; www.ritzcarlton.com) is expected to open in 2010. The hotel will be situated on the upper floors of a 54-story tower located at L.A. Live. The tower will be home to both the JW Marriott Los Angeles and The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, featuring a 123-room “all-club” hotel and 224 Ritz-Carlton Residences. The facility will feature a 3,400-square-foot Club Lounge, which will also serve as the 23rd-floor check-in area for guests. A small boardroom will be available adjacent to the lounge area.
- Los Angeles Marriott Downtown (213.617.1133; www.lamarriottddowntown.com) is undergoing a major renovation project that includes upgrades to all 469 guest rooms, the lobby, other public space and meeting space.
- Wilshire Grand Los Angeles (213.688.7777; www.wilshiregrand.com) recently completed a makeover of its 50,000 square feet of meeting space. Improvements to the lobby bar and espresso bar will begin early this year.
- All 1,354 rooms at Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites (213.624.1000; www.westin.com/bonaventure) are being renovated. The property is the largest hotel in L.A. and features 110,000 square feet of meeting space. More upgrades are planned through 2010.
- Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza (213.617.3300; www.omnilosangeles.com) will complete improvements by the end of 2009.
Hollywood
- W Hollywood (877.946.8357; www.starwoodhotels.com) is slated to open in November at the famous intersection of Hollywood and Vine. Part of a major mixed-used development, the property will feature 305 hotel rooms, 143 residences and 22,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hollywood Walk of Fame (323.850.8252; www.hiexpress.com) recently opened with 94 guest rooms and 10,800 square feet of meeting space.
- Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa (323.856.1200; www.renaissancehollywood.com) recently introduced the 6,400-square-foot Spa Luce.
- Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (323.466.700; www.hollywoodroosevelt.com) recently completed a $30 million renovation. The project included improvements to its 4,400-square-foot Blossom Room and other meeting rooms, a new registration area at the parking valet entrance and upgrades to the pool area, among other enhancements at the historic property that has hosted movie stars from the golden age of film.
