California
- Joie de Vivre, California’s largest boutique hotel collection, named Tina Harlow general manager of Ventana Inn & Spa, a luxury resort located in Big Sur above the Pacific Ocean on California’s Central Coast. Harlow was most recently general manager at Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Ga., and regional director with the Grand Heritage Hotel Group. During her time with Maryland-based Grand Heritage, she oversaw such luxury properties as Casa de mar Beach Golf and Spa Resort in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico; The Biltmore Hotel in Providence, R.I.; and The Vanderbilt Hotel and The Chanler at Cliff Walk, both in Newport, R.I. Additionally, she served as general manager for the Lodge at Koele, in Lanai City, Hawaii.
Colorado
- Millennium Hotels and Resorts named Angela Blackstock director of sales for Millennium Harvest House Boulder. Blackstock previously served as director of group sales for the same property and is now responsible for room, catering and banquet sales, as well as all advertising, marketing and promotional efforts for the hotel. Blackstock was previously director of group sales for the property. Prior to joining the hotel, she held sales and management positions at a number of Denver-area properties, including Radisson Hotel Denver Stapleton Plaza… Brendan Carlin is the new general manager of Hotel Jerome. Most recently, Carlin spent more than five years as general manager of the Mosaic Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. During his time at the property, Carlin managed all aspects of hotel and restaurant operations as well as marketing, sales and public relations. Prior to the Mosaic Hotel, Carlin gained managerial experience at Ritz-Carlton hotels in Sarasota, Fla.; Rancho Mirage, Calif.; and Kapalua, Hawaii. He began his career at the Westin Maui, followed by three years at the Maui InterContinental Resort... Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Denver named Von de Luna general manager. Most recently, he held the position of general manager at Kimpton’s Hotel Burnham in Chicago. De Luna has managed hotels for more than seven years, including Kimpton’s Hotel Rouge and Kimpton’s Hotel Madera, both in Washington, D.C.
New Mexico
- Laura Parsons was appointed spa director at La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa, A RockResort. In her new position, Parsons oversees day-to-day operations at the 4,500-square-foot spa. Parsons will also be introducing more sustainable ingredients to the treatment menu this year as part of RockResorts’ commitment to the environment. Parsons was previously the assistant spa manager at the RockResorts Spa. Prior to joining La Posada, Parsons served as the salon and spa manager at Dillard’s in Cincinnati… Ed Towfighnia recently took the reins as general manager of La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa. Towfighnia, a 35-year veteran of the hospitality industry, most recently served as a member of the management task force for The Arrabelle at Vail Square, A RockResort. Prior to joining RockResorts, he was general manager at the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Previously, Towfighnia held management positions at numerous Hyatt and Marriott resorts in locations including New Orleans, Boston, Denver, Chicago and Hong Kong.
Utah
- Park City Mountain Resort hired Kevin Donovan as executive chef. Donovan was formerly executive chef of the Log Haven Restaurant, located in Millcreek Canyon. Donovan is known for innovative adaptations on conventional cuisine.
Washington
- The Resort At Port Ludlow on Ludlow Bay recently hired Dana Barrett as senior sales manager. She was most recently the group sales manager at Rosario Resort & Spa on the San Juan Islands.
