  • The Boston Convention Marketing Center, a joint effort of the Greater Boston CVB and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, recently launched 3-2-1 Connect, designed to offer meeting prospects one-stop shopping for all of their Boston event needs. The program features three convention hotels—Marriott Copley Place, Sheraton Boston Hotel and Westin Copley Place—two shopping destinations and the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, all under one roof. The offering totals 3,100 centrally located hotel rooms, over 400,000 square feet of combined meeting space and over 200 retail stores and restaurants. 3-2-1 Connect offers benefits to meeting planners and attendees alike. Planners will have the benefit of a single integrated event resume, a single contract for all three hotels with a single hotel bill generated by the host hotel, a single point of contact for all on-site operational needs and no transportation needs. There is free wireless Internet in most locations. For more information, call 617.954.2800 or visit www.advantageboston.com or www.3-2-1Connect.com.

  • Element Lexington [Mass.] is the first Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide property to earn gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program and the first hotel in Massachusetts to achieve the rating. Element Lexington earned LEED Gold certification in recognition of its superior performance in areas including water and energy conservation and improved indoor environmental quality measures. The hotel, which opened its doors last July, expects to recoup its investment in green building in less than five years, due to associated operational savings. The Element brand made history by being the first major hotel chain to require all its hotels to pursue the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification.
