The doors are open at the River Inn of Harbor Town (901.260.3333; www.riverinn memphis.com) after a $9.3 million renovation project.
Carlisle Corporation’s $175 million One Beale project will feature the 240-room Hyatt Regency Memphis Hotel and Spa (901.543.5300; www.memphistravel.com).
Celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2009, the Peabody Memphis (901.529.4000; www.peabodymemphis.com) will be adding 163 upscale suites on the second and third levels of the entertainment complex at 150 Peabody Place. This will give the Peabody more than 600 hotel rooms.
The 600-room Memphis Marriott Downtown (901.527.7300; www.marriott.com), connected to the Memphis Cook Convention Center, recently underwent a $5 million guest room update.
Construction is under way on the multimillion-dollar Beale Street Landing (901.543.5300; www.memphistravel.com) project, scheduled for completion in 2010. Among its features are park spaces with seating areas and a building with a gift shop and a small restaurant.
Towne Center at Soulsville (901.543.5300; www.memphistravel.com) is a new mixed-use, $7.2 million development that includes an 80-room hotel planned for the 150-acre area south of FedEx Forum.
Nashville
The Hutton Hotel (615.340.9333; www.huttonhotel.com) opened in February with 250 guest rooms and a 21,500-square-foot space complete with meeting facilities and a restaurant.
The Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Vanderbilt (615.259.4700; www.hiltongardeninn.com) will open this spring with 194 guest rooms and more than 6,000 square feet of function space.
The Marriott Nashville Airport (615.889.9300; www.marriott.com) is currently undergoing a $6 million guest room and concierge lounge renovation that is scheduled for completion in April.
The Sheraton Nashville Downtown (615.259.2000; www.starwoodhotels.com) plans to finish a guest room renovation this spring.
The Loveless Cafe (615.646.9700; www.lovelesscafe.com), which opened at the beginning of 2009, features a barn in its backyard with 6,000 square feet of flexible event space. The structure opens onto covered patios and lawns and is available year-round.
Chattanooga
The 186-room Doubletree Hotel Chattanooga (423.756.5150; www.chattanooga.doubletree.com) completed a $26 million renovation, which has transformed the property into a full-service hotel complete with meeting space.
Chattanooga Marriott at the Convention Center (423.308.1082; www.marriott.com) is scheduled to complete a $5 million guest room renovation this month.
Knoxville
The recently opened Comfort Suites North Knoxville (865.342.0373; www.com fortsuites.com) features 72 suites and a courtesy business center.
The Holiday Inn Knoxville Central (865.584.3911; www.ichotelsgroup.com) recently upgraded its guest rooms and installed new carpeting in the property.
Gatlinburg
The Hilton Garden Inn Gatlinburg (865.436.0048; www.hiltongardeninn.com), the state’s first LEED-certified hotel, is scheduled to open this summer with 118 guest rooms, a complimentary 24-hour business center, a restaurant and meeting space.
Edgewater Hotel (865.436.4151; www.edgewater-hotel.com) plans to complete a multimillion-dollar renovation this year.
Pigeon Forge
The Holiday Inn Pigeon Forge (865.428.2700; www.holidayinn.com) added an 8,500-square-foot conference center, bringing the property’s total square footage of function space to 11,600.
Belle Island Village (800.758.0040; www.belleisland.com), a $114 million mixed-use project, is slated to open this year. Plans call for a 130-room Belle Island Resort, three restaurants, 90 retail stores and four visitor attractions, including the Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
Sevierville
The 80-room Hampton Inn & Suites Stadium (865.465.0590; www.hamptoninn.com) opened in mid-2008 within walking distance of the Tennessee Smokies Stadium.
The 91-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Sevierville Kodak (865.933.3033; www.marriott.com) and the 74-room Comfort Suites Interstate (865.933.3131; www.comfortsuites.com) both opened in mid-2008 near Bass Pro Outdoor World.
Wilderness Resort at the Smokies (877.325.WILD; www.wildernessatthesmokies.com) consists of the 234-unit Stone Hill Lodge, which opened in summer 2008 and is connected via the lobby to the newly opened, 240,000-square-foot Sevierville Events Center. Lake Wilderness, a three-acre outdoor waterpark, is set to debut at the resort this summer.
Johnson City
The Holiday Inn Express (423.461.8000; www.ichotelsgroup.com) is slated to open this month with 81 rooms.
The 90-room Courtyard by Marriott (423.461.8000; www.marriott.com) is scheduled to open by November at the new Hamilton Place Shopping Center.
