The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa (713.680.2626; www.houstonian.com) recently completed a renovation to guest rooms and corridors on each floor. Energy conservation features have also been added.
Hyatt Regency Houston (713.654.1235; www.houstonregency.hyatt.com) plans to finish a $40 million transformation in September. The project includes new and refreshed meeting spaces, a redesigned lobby bar and new appointments in all 947 guest rooms.
St. Regis Houston (713.840.7600; www.stregis.com/houston) recently wrapped up a $15 million refurbishment that added new furniture, flat-screen TVs and soft goods to its 232 guest rooms and suites.
Omni Houston Hotel (713.624.4876; www.omnihotels.com) recently unveiled its 7,100-square-foot Mokara Spa, which includes a full fitness center.
A 262-room Embassy Suites (www.embassysuites.com) is slated to open in 2010. The property, with 6,000 square feet of meeting space, will be situated adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas-Houston.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (www.fly2houston.com) is undergoing a $1.2 billion transformation that will enlarge Terminal B to 1.7 million square feet. The multiphase construction will be completed over the next 10 years.
