After a West Virginia company announced that it had acquired The Greenbrier, Marriott claimed it had a contract to buy the hotel first, according to an Associated Press report.
The purchase allegedly was made by the Justice Family Group LLC, through the acquisition of the stock of The Greenbrier’s holding company.
The group said it was moving to have the Chapter 11 claim dismissed. A Marriott spokesman said that it expected CSX Corp., the owner of the resort, to hold up its end of the deal to sell the resort for $130 million.
