Ontario
- The 225,000-square-foot Citizens Business Bank Arena (909.244.5500; www.cbbankarena.com), which opened in October with seating for 10,000 people, also accommodates meetings and conventions.
- At the entrance of the LA/Ontario International Airport, the Comfort Suites Ontario Airport (909.605.0700; www.comfortsuites.com) opened in September. The property features 100 suites and meeting and banquet spaces that accommodate up to 100 people.
- Situated 2.5 miles from LA/Ontario International Airport and adjacent to Ontario Mills Mall, the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson–Ontario Mills Mall (909.204.5365; www.countryinns.com/ontarioca_mills) opened in December with 117 guest rooms and more than 2,100 square feet of meeting space, including a boardroom.
- An eight-story Embassy Suites (800.362.2779; www.embassysuites.com) is under construction in Ontario and slated to open in 2010.
- One of the area’s newest attractions is the Ontario Soccer Complex (909.395.2010; www.ci.ontario.ca.us), which debuted last year. The 20-acre complex features two synthetic turf, tournament-size fields with concessions, storage and office space. The complex also features a picnic shelter with tables and a parking lot.
San Bernardino
- The Hilton Garden Inn San Bernardino (800.321.3232; www.hiltongardeninn.com) is on track to open by the end of 2009. The property will have limited meeting space.
Big Bear
- Apples Bed & Breakfast Inn and Group Retreat Center (909.866.0903; www.applesbigbear.com) recently upgraded its library loft into a private meeting area that can be used for breakout sessions, business meetings and small groups. New guest rooms have also been added.
Temecula
- Miramonte Winery (951.506.5500; www.miramontewinery.com) in Temecula Valley is undergoing a multimillion-dollar makeover that will include the addition of new vineyards and an overall new look. When the work is completed later this year, the hilltop winery will take on a Mediterranean ambience with Tuscan-style stonework, new windows and doors, and a 10,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor terrace and garden that will accommodate small groups.
