Marina del Rey

    • The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey (310.823.1700; www.ritzcarlton.com) recently finished a multimillion-dollar, 17,000-square-foot event and meeting space renovation.

Beach Cities

    • The 127-room Belamar Hotel (310.750.0300; www.belamarhotel.com) in Manhattan Beach unveiled a $2.2 million renovation that included enhancements to the lobby, a new restaurant and five new meeting rooms.
    • The Portofino Hotel and Yacht Club (310.379.8481; www.hotelportofino.com) in Redondo Beach recently underwent an extensive $11 million renovation of its guest rooms, meeting facilities, public space, restaurant and 181-slip marina.

 Long Beach

    • The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center (562.436.3636; www.longbeachcc.com) recently wrapped up an $8 million renovation to rejuvenate the arena and add new elevators, furniture and decor.
    • After an extensive renovation, the historic 1920s Dolly Varden Hotel reopened as the Varden Hotel (562.432.8950; www.thevard enhotel.com), a sleek, 35-room boutique property.
    • The Residence Inn Long Beach Downtown (562.495.0700; www.marriott.com/lgbri) recently opened with 178 suites.
    • The new Avia Long Beach Hotel (562.436.1047; www.aviahotels.com/hotels/longbeach) features 138 guest rooms and suites, and a rooftop pool deck and bar with cabanas.
    • The property formerly known as the Coast recently completed a $20 million renovation and was rebranded as Hotel Maya (562.435.7676; www.hotelmayalongbeach.com). The renovation included revitalized guest rooms, additional meeting space, a redesigned lobby and a themed restaurant.
    • The GuestHouse International Hotel Long Beach (562.597.1341; www.guesthouselb.com) recently completed a $1.5 million guest room renovation.
