- San Diego’s Seaport Village announced a partnership with Restaurant Events to bring small- to large-scale events to the bayside venue. The village-like shopping center offers views of San Diego’s bay and the Coronado Bridge and is close to the San Diego Convention Center. Restaurant Events, which currently brings together restaurateurs in the Gaslamp Quarter to host parties with guests numbering more than 10,000, is duplicating its efforts at Seaport Village. Meeting planners can select an existing plan or customize a package. Seaport Village shops and restaurants will remain open late during the events. - Tourism Richmond, in British Columbia, recently launched an incentive for meeting planners who deliver a new RFP through the Web-based tool MeetingsEasy from now to March 31, 2010. Meeting planners who book their next meeting or convention with of 25 or more rooms receive a range of credits, from $500 to $1,500, to be applied to the final master account.
