Boston
- The 234-room W Boston (617.261.8700; www.starwoodhotels.com) opened in October in Boston’s historic theater district. The property features 5,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Ames Hotel (617.979.8100; www.ameshotel.com) by Morgan Hotel Group debuted in late 2009 on Court Street. The 114-room property has a restaurant and bar called Woodward and a state-of-the art fitness center.
- The 498-room Hyatt Regency Boston (617.912.1234; www.regencyboston.hyatt.com) recently kicked off a multimillion-dollar renovation project that will include upgrades to the lower lobby meeting rooms, third-floor function rooms, all public areas and the front desk. The property has 24,000 square feet of meeting space.
- A $22 million renovation at Boston Marriott Copley Place (617.236-5800; www.copleymarriott.com) is slated for completion in early 2010. The project has included upgrades throughout the hotel, including the renovation of all 47 guest suites and the addition of meeting space. The property has 1,101 guest rooms and 65,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Sheraton Boston Hotel (617.236.2000; www.starwoodhotels.com) recently finished a $50 million renovation that features new designs for 800 guest rooms, a distinctive new lobby space and the Club Lounge. The property has 1,220 guest rooms and 53 meeting spaces, including a 20,000-square-foot ballroom.
- Millennium Bostonian Hotel (617.523.3600; www.millenniumhotels.com), located adjacent to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, recently completed a $24 million renovation. The project included upgrades to the guest rooms and the lobby, as well as a new restaurant, North 26. The property offers 201 guest rooms and meeting space for groups as large as 275.
- A sweeping $25 million renovation has brought a modern look to The Colonnade Boston Hotel (617.424.7000; www.colonnadehotel.com). The boutique hotel is located across the street from Hynes Convention Center in the Back Bay area and features 285 guest rooms and more than 13,000 square feet of meeting space.
- The former Sheraton Newton recently finished a $10 million renovation and conversion project to become the Crowne Plaza Boston-Newton (617.969.3010; www.ichotelsgroup.com). The 270-room property, located west of Boston in nearby Newton, offers nearly 7,000 square feet of meeting space.
Cambridge
- The $10 million, 30-room Hotel Veritas (617.520.5000; www.thehotelveritas.com) will debut in early 2010 at Massachusetts Avenue & Remington Street.
- Best Western Hotel Tria (617.491.8000; www.bestwesternmassachusetts.com) recently completed a $10 million renovation and expansion that included the addition of 50 guest rooms. The property now offers 121 guest rooms and a new 480-square-foot meeting room.
- Le Meridien Cambridge-MIT (617.577.0200; www.starwoodhotels.com) recently wrapped up a $7 million renovation of its guest rooms and public space. The hotel has 210 guest rooms and seven meeting rooms.
Beyond Boston
- Boston Marriott Peabody (978.977.9700; www.marriott.com) recently unveiled a newly renovated concierge lounge. The hotel has 253 guest rooms and nearly 11,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Boston-Peabody (978.535.4600; www.holidayinn.com/bos-peabody) recently completed extensive renovations to all public spaces, including both ballrooms. Meeting space was expanded to more than 10,000 square feet, and the hotel’s 183 guest rooms have also been updated.
- Rockport Inn & Suites (978.546.3300; www.rockportinnandsuites.com) opened in May after an extensive renovation. Formerly the Sandy Bay Motor Inn, the property offers meeting facilities for up to 100 people.
